To give each student individual attention, class size is limited. Therefore, registration is requested prior to purchase. Once you are confirmed, an email will be sent with dates and instructions for downloading the books.

The classes are offered monthly and run for ten days, beginning on a Friday and ending on a Sunday. Classes will be posted on a private blog so you can pick up the daily classes at your convenience. Weekday assignments are very light, making it easy to follow along.

There will be two conference calls for extra support during the weekend classes. The first will be on the first Sunday and the second will be on the last Saturday. You can post questions and comments on the class blog anytime.



The first class sessions covers a lot of ground to get you setup and running with your blog. You will be able to download a document to go at your own pace through this class. Even if you already have your blog running, you’ll want to read through all of the steps in this tutorial to ensure that your account is setup properly. The class includes:

Blog Navigation

 

We’ll cover ways to navigate through your blog. Even if you’ve been using your blog for a while, you’ll want to read this tutorial to ensure you know all of the shortcuts for getting around the site.

Profile and Account Settings

 

We’ll cover customizing and optimizing your profile settings and protecting your email address from spam bots.

Customizing Your Blog

 

This lesson covers ways to pick out a template that complements your content. We’ll detail different page elements and cover a few sidebar gadgets. You’ll also be shown how to download and save your template.

First Post

 

We’ll cover several aspects of posting, including working with the different view modes. Even if you have been posting for a while, you’ll want to read this tutorial to find some good tricks and tips to make posting fun. There are three more classes on posting later in the week and we’ll cover everything you want to know about posting.

In the second class session, we’ll fully optimize your blog settings. We’ll have a teleconference call  to discuss any questions that you may have with the lessons This class includes:

 

- How to add Share Buttons to your posts
- How to protect your email address from spam bots
- How to add Google Analytics

In Posting Class 2, we’ll cover:

 

- Post Options
- Scheduling posts for future publication
- Saving as a draft
- Using labels

In Posting Class 3, we’ll cover:

 

- Permalinks
- Working in the HTML view mode
- Using block quotes

In Posting Class 4, we’ll cover:

 

- Inserting links
- Working with graphics and aligning them with text
- Reusing images
- Creating reusable image and text headers

In this two-day class, we’ll be working with sidebar gadgets, so we’re leaving plenty of time for you to play with creating different looks for your site. We’ll cover different ways to layout pictures and text, gadget placement, and various ways to display your profile information. We’ll also cover gadgets that will help your viewers find other posts of interest including ways to display post labels, archive lists, and a blogroll.

The last blog class is on advanced features you can add to your blog. We’ll be working with code, but all of the instructions are very clear. We’ll also have another conference call to answer your questions and provide extra support and guidance. In this class, we’ll cover:

 

- Creating Virtual Pages
- Adding Share Buttons
- Protecting Email Address with JavaScript
- Adding Google Analytics

The RSS feed class is divided into two segments. We’ll setup your feed service and then place a link on your blog.

Part 1 includes:

 

- Setting up an account with FeedBurner
- Navigating through Feedburner
- Reading your feed stas
- Optimize your feed settings
- Publicizing your feed

Part 2 includes:

 

- Setting up Blogger for feeds
- Adding subscription links
